News & Events: Pillar in the Community: No Christmas Cards From PillarPillar CEO, Peter Beck today presented a cheque for $1,500 to the Wollongong Hospital Children’s Ward.
In presenting the cheque to Julie Haines, Clinical Nurse Specialist at the hospital, Peter said “Christmas is a time for giving and a particularly special time for children. We decided that instead of buying and posting paper Christmas cards this year, we would design and send our own e-cards and donate the savings to the Children’s Ward at Wollongong Hospital. This initiative also best reflects Pillar’s sustainability objectives."
The hospital will be using Pillar’s donation to purchase a Graseby Respiration Monitor which is used to detect breathing difficulties in young children at risk of SIDS / cot death. These monitors are also loaned to parents to use at home.
