Visitors from Thailand

On Friday 30th November 2007, Pillar hosted the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand at our Sydney office.  Members of the delegation, from various Thai asset management firms and fund administration service providers, were visiting Australia to learn about fund administration services and Pillar was pleased to be able to provide first hand experience and information to our visitors.

NSW Service Medallion Awards

On Thursday 26th July 2007, a number of staff employed by the New South Wales Government were awarded the NSW Service Medallion. The award is in recognition of meritorious service of 40 years (or more) as an officer employed by the New South Wales Government. Our own Les Howe - Manager, Member Communications - is pictured receiving his award from The Honourable Kristina Keneally MP. Congratulations Les on your outstanding service.

The Illawarra Mercury recently wrote an article about Graduates from the University of Wollongong that have successfully undertaken Graduate Programs with local businesses within the region. Adam Trevarthen, a Pillar graduate within our IT department, was selected to be interviewed by the Mercury and the article went to press on Tuesday 15th May 2007. CEO and Young Professionals Breakfast

Each year the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA NSW) host the CEO and Young Professionals Breakfast at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour. This year twenty (20) Pillar staff attended the event. The breakfast provided a great opportunity to network with fellow employees as well as our CEO Peter Cormack. The keynote speaker was Andrew Johnson, Executive Director of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) who discussed the challenge of social engagement and social activism in the 21st Century.

27/03/2007 – Pillar sponsors CMSF After Dinner Party

This year's Conference of Major Superannuation Funds was held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Queensland and Pillar was once again the exclusive sponsor of the After Dinner Party. The Pillar Encore Bar was a huge success with conference delegates keen to party on after the Gala Dinner. In keeping with the theme of the conference "Super For Life: An Unfinished Symphony", party-goers were entertained by a string quartet, Paradise Strings.

02/2007 – Pillar Enters Retail Market

AES

Pillar is delighted to announce that we have been appointed by the Australian Ethical Superannuation Fund (AES) as its new administrator. This is a particularly important appointment for Pillar as it marks Pillar’s entry into the retail sector of the superannuation market.

The AES has around 10,000 members and $200 million in assets, with both accumulation and allocated pension divisions.  The initial contract term is for 5 years and is scheduled to commence towards the end of 2007.

17/11/2006 - 100% Pure Admin

ASFA 2006

Over 1,750 participants attended the ASFA Conference ‘Going The Distance’ at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.  The conference is the biggest event in the superannuation industry calendar and Pillar was one of over 50 exhibitors at SuperExpo.

Pillar’s exhibition booth which reinforced our standing as a 100% Pure Admin company, served 100% pure orange juice to thirsty delegates during session breaks.

15/09/2006 – Ivy Gueco - National Winner!

Pillar is delighted to announce that Ivy Gueco from our Contact Centre has been named the Tele-Professional of the Year 2006 at the 11th Australian Teleservices Association (ATA) national awards! The award was presented to Ivy in front of over 400 delegates on the Gold Coast on Friday, 15th September. Congratulations, Ivy for your spectacular win!

01/06/2006 – Pillar sponsors Melbourne trivia night

Trivia Night

The 2nd ASFA Melbourne Trivia Challenge was held at the Rydges Backlot and Pillar was again the proud sponsor of this event that is fast becoming a fixture on the Melbourne superannuation calendar.

The Australian Primary / AGEST / Pillar team rose to the challenge of the occasion, earning a respectable 6th place on the night.
