04/11/2007 - MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride

MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride logo

Pillar was proud to co-sponsor a team of 15 riders in the 26th Annual MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride.  Team riders raised over $1,400 for MS Australia which supports people in our community suffering from multiple sclerosis.

12/04/2007 – Pillar supports The Inspire Foundation

Manly Golf Club was the venue for this year’s Super Review Charity Golf Tournament and Pillar was once again a proud sponsor of the event. The Inspire Foundation was formed in 1996 in response to escalating rates of youth suicide.  Much needed funds were raised at this event to help The Inspire Foundation continue supporting kids in need.

23/02/2007 - Pillar hosts UniVative Illawarra students

During the month of February, Pillar was host to 2 teams of students from the University of Wollongong as part of its UniVative Illawarra program. The students were given 3 weeks to create an innovative solution to a business issue, culminating in a presentation and business report to Pillar management.

31/01/2007 - TVs for Wollongong Hospital

Jan

Staff from Pillar’s Social Club today presented a cheque for $2,400 to the Children’s Ward at Wollongong Hospital for eight new television sets to be installed. Staff raised $1,200 at a “Shop Till You Drop” shopping event and this amount was matched by Pillar, bringing the total to $2,400.

18/11/2006 – Cancer Council Relay For Life

A team of 45 dedicated walkers from Pillar took turns to walk around Beaton Park and raised over $9,000 for the NSW Cancer Council. The Pillar team was the Number 1 fundraiser in the Illawarra region - what a great effort! Pillar walkers were cheered on by supporters in the Pillar marquee who kept up a supply of drinks and refreshments for the team.

05/11/2006 – MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride

Pillar was proud to co-sponsor a team of 20 riders from Pillar, Print Super and Synchronised Software in the 25th MS Sydney to Gong Bike Ride. This annual event is held to raise money and awareness of those people who suffer from multiple sclerosis. Team riders, who came from Coniston, Sydney and Melbourne, raised over $5,000 through sponsorships and donations for this very worthwhile cause. Despite the difficult weather conditions, all riders made it to the finish line for a well earned drink and barbecue at the Pillar marquee.

08/2006 – Young Achievement Australia business program

Local Illawarra students taking part in the Young Achievement Australia business program experienced first-hand Pillar’s support for its community.  Pillar’s CEO Peter Cormack and GM Human Resources Mandy Varley-Mason attended a workshop at the Illawarra Yacht Club, providing students with valuable business advice.

07/2006 – Work experience students at Pillar

Pillar continues to support the local Illawarra community by hosting 6 work experience students from the University of Wollongong in their Employment Experience Program. These students spent their 4-week semester break at Pillar gaining work experience relevant to their fields of study.

16/03/2006 – Pillar supports Mission Australia

Showing continued support for our community, Pillar was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the 2nd Super Review Charity Golf Tournament, held at Roseville Golf Club.  This event raised much needed funds for Mission Australia, in particular for their Triple Care Farm project.
